Editor’s note: There are more than 1 million apps available for download from Apple's App Store and a similar number of Android apps available on Google Play. Staff writer Brian Nordli weighs in on one of the applications he deems worthy of being the Sun’s App of the Week.
Phone App: Stays in Vegas
Where it’s found: Apple's “App Store” or Google Play
What is it: Visiting Las Vegas often is all about debauchery and discretion, but in the age of Facebook and Twitter, there’s an itch to share those stories and commemorate the experience for eternity.
That’s where Stays in Vegas comes in. As the app’s name suggests, Stays in Vegas is all about ensuring those raucous or embarrassing details from your trip don’t follow you outside Sin City.
Users can create an account and access the app only while in or within 10 miles of Las Vegas. While here, users can post photos and statuses, chat with friends in Las Vegas at the same time or meet new people.
Once you leave here, all that evidence becomes inaccessible, ensuring that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
