Domestic dispute leads to stabbing, arson, police say

Incident

A couple’s quarrel launched an arson investigation and sent a man to the hospital Tuesday night.

A drunken man dumped gasoline on his apartment and set it on fire after being stabbed by his girlfriend twice, Metro Police Lt. David Gordon said.

Firefighters responded to Green Acres Apartments at Washington Avenue and Jones Boulevard just after 9:30 p.m., said Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.

The man was transported to University Medical Center with superficial wounds, Gordon said.

An arson investigation is underway, Szymanski said.

The fire, which was out when firefighters arrived on scene, caused minimal damage of about $1,000, Szymanski said.
