Suspect in Utah bank robbery leads police on three-state chase

A suspect in a Utah bank robbery who led police on a car chase through three states, including Nevada, on July 31 has been identified as 24-year-old Sandeep Kaur, Mesquite Police said.

Kaur, who is from Union City, Calif., is accused of robbing a bank in St. George, Utah, before fleeing south on Interstate 15, police said.

Mesquite Police said they received calls from Utah and Arizona officers requesting assistance in stopping a silver Nissan Altima traveling on the interstate at speeds up to 130 mph.

Officers from Mesquite and troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol took over the pursuit at the Nevada/Arizona border, spiking the car’s tires on two different occasions, police said.

The car was stopped near Logandale, and Kaur, who initially refused to get out of the car, eventually was taken into custody, police said.

In Nevada, Kaur faces counts including resisting an officer and aggressive driving. She also faces counts in connection with the bank robbery in Utah, police said.
