Three injured in stabbings along the Las Vegas Strip

Updated Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 | 9:20 a.m.

Three people were wounded in two separate stabbings this morning along the Las Vegas Strip, one outside the Planet Hollywood and the other near the Monte Carlo, Metro Police reported.

All of the victims suffered injuries that did not appear life-threatening, police said.

In the first incident, an argument among a group of men escalated when one pulled a knife and attacked two others about 3:45 a.m. on the sidewalk near Las Vegas Boulevard and Rue De Monte Carlo, police said.

Two men, including the man with the knife, fled the scene before officers arrived, Metro Officer Jose Hernandez said. Police were searching for suspects.

The victims were transported to University Medical Center.

Several hours later, a man entered Planet Hollywood about 7:25 a.m. and told security he had been stabbed just outside along Las Vegas Boulevard.

Security officers went outside and saw the suspect, who threatened them with a knife and fled, police said. Security called police, who arrived and arrested the man across the street, Metro reported.

The suspect’s name was not immediately released.

The victim, who also was not named, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

No additional details were immediately available.
