Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Cleveland Browns at Washington Redskins under-42 points: $330 to win $300
I was having a hard time justifying the Browns plus-2.5 points, so I decided to step back and just ride with a low-scoring affair. The main reason is that I don’t think either of these offenses are very good right now.
There’s also the possibility that in an effort to win Cleveland’s starting quarterback job, Johnny Manziel or Brian Hoyer (or both!) could attempt to try too hard and end up making mistakes. Washington’s defense held the New England Patriots to six points their first time out, so the Browns are likely going to have to work for their points.
Standings: Bern (42-31-1, $13,292), Keefer (36-39, $9,692), Brewer (29-43-3, $1,300)
