Metro Police say they apprehended a man shortly after he robbed a Red Lobster at gunpoint Thursday night near the Meadows mall.
Police received reports of the crime at about 9:45 p.m. at the seafood restaurant on Decatur Boulevard near Meadows Lane, Lt. Eric Lloyd said. A man with a gun entered, demanded money, and left with the cash register.
A restaurant patron who was carrying a concealed weapon confronted the suspect outside the store, firing a warning shot that caused the suspect to flee, Lloyd said.
Witnesses directed arriving officers to where the suspect had fled, and police located him behind a nearby building attempting to change clothes.
Lloyd said police recovered the cash register and the suspect's gun.
No one was hurt in the incident.
