Fire damages duplex at Las Vegas Country Club

Fire

A two-story duplex caught fire Sunday night at the Las Vegas Country Club.

The Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded about 8:25 p.m. to 1108 Vegas Valley Drive, near Vegas Drive.

Neighbors reported the fire after they saw smoke coming out of the home, Clark County Fire Department spokesman Erik Newman said.

The fire started near a fireplace and extended into the ceiling between the first and second floors, officials said. Firefighters extinguished the flames within minutes.

No one was injured.

The fire caused about $8,000 damage. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
