Coroner identifies woman killed in Henderson crosswalk Thursday

The woman hit by a car and killed while walking in a crosswalk in Henderson Thursday afternoon has been identified as 27-year-old Jessica Papin, the Clark County Coroner's office said today.

Papin was walking in a marked crosswalk on Boulder Highway and Lowrey Street at around 1:30 p.m., just north of Lake Mead Parkway, when the accident occurred. She was struck by a Jeep Cherokee driven by 84-year-old Paul Bennett, who failed to yield, according to Henderson Police. Speed, drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident, police said.

The coroner's office has not yet released a cause of death. Papin is the sixth traffic related casualty in Henderson this year.
