Suspect in southwest valley sexual assault surrenders to police

​The suspect who Metro Police say sexually assaulted a woman last week as she was driving at the intersection of Durango Drive and the 215 Beltway has turned himself in.

Nikholeus "Niko" Cleland, 17, surrendered to detectives today after being sought in the kidnapping of a female victim at gunpoint at about 2:45 a.m. last Tuesday and sexually assaulting her, police said.

He stole the victim's car after he committed the crime, police said.

Cleland has been certified as an adult and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center, police said.

He faces charges of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and three counts of sexual assault with a deadly weapon.
