HealthDonor.com has set up a crowdfunding account with a goal of raising $10,000 to help the families of slain Metro Police Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo.
The officers were shot to death June 8 at a pizzeria by Jerad and Amanda Miller, who also killed Joseph Wilcox at a nearby Wal-Mart store. Wilcox, who was carrying a concealed gun, was shopping when he confronted Jerad Miller and was shot to death by Amanda Miller.
Jerad Miller was killed in a shootout with police at the Wal-Mart, and his wife shot herself.
HealthDonor is a crowdfunding platform that helps people raise money for unexpected health-related expenses.
All money raised through HealthDonor will be sent directly to the families or via the Las Vegas Police Officers Association.
The campaign began Wednesday and will continue until Aug. 10. As of this morning, no donations had been made to the fund. According to its website, HealthDonor has raised a total of $50,636 in 22 campaigns.
The Injured Police Officers Fund also has established accounts for the families of Soldo, Beck and Wilcox at the following banks: Wells Fargo, the Officer Down Account and the Joseph R. Wilcox Memorial Fund; Nevada State Bank, the Officer Down Account.
