las vegas 51s:

51s strand tying run at third base in one-run loss at El Paso

The Las Vegas 51s scored one run today in their final at-bats at El Paso, but stranded the potential tying run at third base in a 4-3 loss.

With two outs in the ninth and the 51s trailing by two runs, Daniel Muno doubled for Las Vegas and scored on Josh Satin’s triple to trim the deficit to one run. Andrew Brown followed and was hit by a pitch to put two runners on base. However, Zach Lutz grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the game, giving El Paso a split in the four-game series.

Satin led Las Vegas with three hits and Brown homered in the first inning for the second straight game.

Las Vegas returns to Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. Saturday to face the Reno Aces, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
