NEW YORK — Federal prosecutors in New York say a mob associate has been arrested in Nevada on charges he killed a rival in Queens more than a decade ago.
Gennaro Bruno was to appear in court in Las Vegas later Tuesday.
An indictment unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn identifies the 47-year-old Bruno as an associate in the Gambino organized crime family.
The court papers say he shot his victim in the back of the head a point-blank range in 2002 in a dispute over a scheme to smuggle high-potency marijuana to the United States from Canada.
The name of Bruno's attorney wasn't immediately available.
