A Henderson police officer is accused of having a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he was arrested driving a pickup truck the wrong way on a northwest Las Vegas freeway.
Joseph Lawrance also is accused of having a bottle of whiskey, prescription pills, a loaded gun and another person with him when he was stopped in a Toyota Tundra a little before 1 a.m. Oct. 23 on U.S. 95.
Defense attorney Joshua Tomsheck asked a judge Thursday for time to negotiate a plea deal with prosecutors.
Justice of the Peace Suzan Baucum reset Lawrance's arraignment for Monday.
Prosecutor Brian Rutledge says the 31-year-old Lawrance had a blood-alcohol percentage of .185.
Rutledge says he's awaiting Nevada Highway Patrol dashboard video that may show Lawrance fighting with troopers.
