Officials converge at ‘Welcome’ sign to mark hunger awareness campaign

Three Square Food Bank representatives and Clark County commissioners are teaming up Thursday to turn the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign orange on Go Orange Day, a national hunger awareness campaign.

They will meet in front of the sign at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to change the sign color with the flip of a switch, marking a visual reminder of the hunger problem in Southern Nevada.

Brian Burton, president and CEO of Three Square, and Commissioners Mary Beth Scow and Lawrence Weekly are scheduled to attend the event.
