Three different Del Sol running backs scored two rushing touchdowns today in a 46-6 victory against visiting Western.
Jay Peete, Daniel Tyus and Tommy Kilen each scored twice in the first half, helping the Dragons lead 46-0 at halftime and improve to 2-0 on the season.
“We had a pretty good night rushing the ball,” Del Sol coach Gary Maki said.
Del Sol came within one play of earning a shutout. With its reserves in the game, Western scored on the game’s last play.
Del Sol doubled its win total from last year — something Maki partially credits to his defense. They’ve surrendered just 19 points in two games, a vast improvement from last season when they surrendered more than 300 points over nine games.
