Woman dies after crash with wrong-way driver on 215

A woman was killed early Tuesday on the 215 Beltway after a wrong-way driver hit her head on.

The woman was traveling in a Hyundai sedan around 12:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes at the same time that a 31-year-old man in a Toyota pickup was driving eastbound against traffic, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. They collided head on just west of Windmill Lane. The woman, 28, was pronounced dead on scene. The male driver of the pickup was transported to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation. Police believe the man was intoxicated at the time.
