Vegas Play of the Day: Auburn at Kansas State

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Kansas State plus-7 against Auburn: $440 to win $400

Auburn could turn out to be one of the best teams in the country this season, a distinction the Tigers can get closer to with a victory tonight in Manhattan, Kansas. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has had a bye week to help his team prepare, and in two contests against Arkansas and San Jose State, the Tigers have yet to be challenged.

But this is different. Kansas State is by no means great, as the Wildcats needed a comeback just to defeat lowly Iowa State. But this is Bill Snyder at home in a game he’s not supposed to win, which means you can be sure the Wildcats will finish close.

Since returning to the program in 2009, Snyder is 20-8 against the spread as an underdog, including 7-3 at home. These are the type of games that his teams tend to perform well in, and just like Auburn, the Wildcats are coming off a bye week.

Respect the Snydercats and take the points.
