Students at Palo Verde High School were sent home early today because of an electrical problem, Clark County School District officials said.

Students were dismissed about 11:30 a.m., School District spokeswoman Michelle Booth said.

The electrical issue was with equipment at the northwest valley school and not the result of any outage, NV Energy spokesman Mark Severts said.

NV Energy cut power to the school to allow work on the problem, Severts said.

The school at 333 S. Pavilion Center Drive has about 3,020 students. They are typically dismissed at 2:16 p.m.
