Area of shooting
An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot this morning in a northwest valley neighborhood, according to Metro Police.
Police responded to a call at 4:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Glenfield Circle after reports of a shooting. The 18-year-old was found with one gunshot wound to the chest, Metro Lt. John Liberty said.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center Trauma in critical condition and is expected to undergo multiple lengthy surgeries, Liberty said.
Metro's Violent Crime Investigators had no official cause of why the shooting occurred, and the investigation is still ongoing.
No suspects have been identified as of noon Sunday.
