Coroner IDs victims in fatal double shooting, suicide

Three people killed Sunday in what Metro Police say was a double slaying and suicide at an apartment complex have been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Police said 27-year-old Las Vegas resident Michael Gerome Latimore Jr. shot Legatha Ball, 28 and Lakeitha Thomas, 26, of Las Vegas after an argument and then shot himself in the head. Ball’s city of residence was not released by the Coroner’s Office.

Latimore’s death was ruled a suicide, and both women died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Coroner’s Office.

Police responded about 2:30 p.m. Sunday to the apartment complex in the 1000 block of Lisbon Avenue, near East Desert Inn Road and South Maryland Parkway, where all three people were found on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds, police said.

One of the women was in a relationship with Latimore, police said. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
