Woman killed in northwest valley accident ID’d

A woman who died in a two-vehicle crash at a northwest valley intersection Wednesday morning has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 66-year-old Gloria Jean Jackson.

Jackson, a North Las Vegas resident, was heading east on West Tropical Parkway and entering the intersection at Jones Boulevard in a 2002 Dodge Intrepid when the car was struck by a 2011 Dodge Durango, Metro Police said.

The vehicles rotated and slid southeast before stopping, police said.

Jackson was pronounced dead on scene, and the 40-year-old woman driving the Durango sustained minor to moderate injuries, police said.

There was no indication the driver of the Durango was impaired during the crash, police said.

This was the 34th traffic death in Metro's jurisdiction this year, police said.
