South Boulder Highway and East Missouri Avenue, Las Vegas

A woman died after a minivan crashed into a light pole at a southeast valley intersection, Metro Police said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the woman on Wednesday as Kelsy Nicole Carson, 35, of Henderson.

Officers were called about 4:50 p.m. to the intersection of Boulder Highway and Missouri Avenue, where a silver minivan traveling north struck the pole and rolled over, Lt. Bruce Miyama said.

Carson was traveling north on Boulder Highway when she drove through the intersection and crossed the center median and stuck the traffic control device pole, and the 2004 Dodge Durango subsequently overturned, according to a Metro press release.

The fatality was the 37th in Metro's jurisdiction for 2015, according to the press release. It remains under investigation.
