Is Chick-fil-A finally coming to Southern Nevada?

The popular chicken sandwich chain is in the process of buying a vacant 5,100-square-foot building near Galleria at Sunset mall in Henderson, landlord Julius Ballardini told the Las Vegas Sun.

Nothing is finalized, as Chick-fil-A still needs to secure a zoning change, according to Ballardini, who did not say when the eatery planned to open.

“There is nothing concrete on it yet,” he said.

A public relations representative for Chick-fil-A said the Atlanta-based company is not quite ready to confirm the Henderson location.

She provided a statement from Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Carrie Kurlander, who said the company "would very much like to serve the communities of Las Vegas, and while we are actively seeking the first few sites in Nevada, we have no locations to confirm just yet."

The company said the same thing last fall, when it was rumored that Chick-fil-A planned to open at Downtown Summerlin, the 1.6 million-square-foot shopping and office complex at Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway .

Food blog Eater Vegas reported Chick-fil-A’s possible new location, 460 N. Stephanie St., earlier today.

More rumors have swirled the past few years for this fast-food chain than almost any other in Las Vegas, a transient place where residents often clamor for restaurants that blanket other cities but have no presence here.

(Exhibit A: Burger chain White Castle, loved by many but dismissed by plenty, opened in January at Casino Royale on the Strip and, after its first day, temporarily closed for maintenance and to restock, citing “overwhelming demand.”)
