Toddler in critical condition after being pulled from pool

A toddler is in critical condition after being pulled from a pool this evening near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway, according to Metro Police.

Officers were called about 6:50 p.m. to a home in the 1400 block of Corona Avenue, where a child from 1 to 2 years old was found in a pool by relatives, Lt. Will Huddler said.

The small child was rushed to the hospital and is still receiving treatment, he said.

Metro's abuse and neglect detectives are on scene, which is standard in these cases, Huddler said.

The incident comes just two days after another toddler died in an unrelated incident after being found face down in a hot tub at a northwest valley apartment complex, police said. The child was found in the water and taken to MountainView Hospital before being pronounced dead Monday night, police said.
