Authorities are confirming that a body found near a Las Vegas freeway airport interchange was an 84-year-old Australian tourist who had been reported missing during the weekend from a Las Vegas Strip resort.

The Clark County coroner said Wednesday that investigators are still trying to determine how Thuoc Van Dong died.

The coroner says he lived in Collingwood, Australia.

Las Vegas police say the body was found about 9 a.m. Tuesday near the Airport Connector road and tunnel beneath McCarran International Airport and the 215 Beltway.

Police had said Dong was last seen about 5 p.m. Sunday in the lobby of the MGM Grand resort.

They said Dong didn't speak English, and had signs of early stage Alzheimer's disease.
