Public invited to comment on Family Court hearing master candidates

Now is the public’s chance to vet candidates for a hearing master position for the Family Court Division.

The Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court, which presides over more than 100,000 cases filed each year, is involved in a three-tiered recruitment process for hiring a hearing master. One piece of that is inviting the public to provide written and signed comments regarding the candidates — Robert Cerceo, William L. Croft, Margaret E. Pickard and Holly E. Roys.

All the candidates are attorneys and in good standing with the State Bar of Nevada, officials said. As a hearing master assigned to the Family Court Division, the selected candidate will hear matters and render legal opinions related to abuse and neglect, delinquency, child support, domestic violence and guardianship.

Input on the candidates can be emailed to the Eighth Judicial District Human Resources manager’s office or mailed to 200 Lewis Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89155.

The public comment period begins today and lasts through 5 p.m. Aug. 26.
