Police locate car of man slain near Sam’s Town

Police have located the missing vehicle of a man who was fatally shot near Sam's Town in eastern Las Vegas last week but are still looking for clues about what he was doing prior to his death.

Las Vegas resident Eugene Henry Elliott Jr., 72, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and his body was found Wednesday morning in a home in the 5200 block of Crater Circle, near Boulder Highway, according to police and the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Police believe he was a robbery victim, according to a news release.

Investigators asked for the public's help in the search for Elliott’s silver 2013 Cadillac ATS, which was found Friday about two miles south of the casino near Hacienda Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, police said.

The car was missing wheels, police said.

Detectives are asking people with additional information on Elliott's whereabouts prior to the discovery of his body or anyone with information about the vehicle to call Metro's homicide section at 702-828-3521 or email [email protected]. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
