Driver sought in hit-and-run that left motorcyclist critical

Metro Police are searching for a driver in a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a 50-year-old Las Vegas man in critical condition Tuesday evening.

At 11:38 p.m., a 2006 Nissan Altima traveling west on Tropicana Avenue, approaching a red light on Dean Martin Drive, failed to stop and collided into the right side of a 2007 Suzuki GS500 motorcycle traveling north on a green light on Dean Martin, police said.

The Nissan fled the scene without helping the victim, Cornelio Randolph, or notifying police.

Randolph was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries.

The Nissan was later found unoccupied less than a mile from the scene in the 3100 block of Tompkins Avenue, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Metro Police at 702-828-3317 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
