Fire at building near Sahara and Paradise under investigation

A fire that broke out in the office of a building near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road caused about $15,000 damage to the structure, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 2 p.m. at 2545 Lynwood St., a building in a shopping mall.

Fire crews found black smoke from the ceiling of the building to within 8 inches of the floor, the department said.

No injuries were reported, and the fire did not spread to surrounding units.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The damage estimate does not include undisclosed damage to merchandise in the building.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue also responded to the scene.
