Man shot after NLV robbery exchanged gunfire with suspect, police say

A man injured in a North Las Vegas robbery-turned-shooting at a convenience store Tuesday night engaged in a gunfight with the robber, police said.

The man, who was still in critical condition this afternoon, was outside the store near Craig and Pecos roads about 10 p.m. as another man was robbing the store, North Las Vegas Police Officer Steven Wiese said.

As the robber was leaving, he got into a dispute with the man, and the pair exchanged gunfire, Wiese said.

The man was shot and taken to University Medical Center, he said.

The robber, described only as an adult male, is not in custody, and it was unclear if he was injured, Wiese said.
