Pedestrian dies in crash near Boulder Highway, Russell Road

Pedestrian hit

A pedestrian died in a crash involving a vehicle in the southeast valley this afternoon, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 5:30 p.m. to the 6100 block of Boulder Highway, near Russell Road, Lt. Harry Demetres said.

Medical personnel were called to the scene, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead, he said.

Further details on the crash and the vehicle involved were not immediately available.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the name and official cause of death of the pedestrian.

Boulder Highway will be closed in the area for "a few hours" as police investigate the incident, Demetres said.
