A man in a wheelchair was killed and a woman was seriously injured Friday night in a hit-and-run in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

The woman was pushing the man across North Las Vegas Boulevard, just south of North Walnut Road, about 8:20 p.m. when they were hit by a northbound vehicle that failed to stop, police said. The area is north of Cheyenne Avenue.

The man, 46, and woman, 44, were not in a crosswalk, police said.

They were taken to University Medical Center, where the man was pronounced dead, police said. His name has not been released, pending notification of his family.

The vehicle involved might have been an early 1990s, dark-colored Nissan sedan, police said.
