Authorities have identified a woman who was found dead after a fire in an east Las Vegas apartment.
The Clark County coroner's office said Saturday that 24-year-old Cheryl Marie Dean was the victim discovered in the blaze but did not release a cause of death.
County fire officials initially reported that an elderly woman had suffered fatal injuries.
The incident happened Wednesday at the Canyon Pointe Apartments on Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway just before noon.
Clark County firefighters were able to extinguish it and the fire was confined to one building.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire remains under investigation.
