Pedestrian hit by pickup truck, killed on Boulder Highway

A 39-year-old Las Vegas man was hit by a pickup truck and killed Tuesday night while crossing Boulder Highway south of Tropicana Avenue, according to Metro Police.

The man was crossing the street about 10 p.m. outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup that was northbound on Boulder, police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the truck, a 37-year-old Las Vegas man, remained on the scene, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

It is the 116th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
