Pedestrian killed on Boulder Highway on Friday identified

A Las Vegas pedestrian who died after being struck by a pickup truck near an east valley intersection Friday evening has been identified as 42-year-old Emily Collier, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Collier died of blunt-force injuries after being hit about 7:40 p.m. on Boulder Highway north of Indios Avenue, near Twain Avenue.

She was not in a crosswalk while crossing Boulder Highway, and she was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, according to Metro Police.

The 45-year-old Boulder City man driving the truck was not injured, and he remained on scene. He did not appear to be under the influence, police said.

This was the 117th traffic-related death this year investigated by Metro Police.
