Accident
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle this evening near West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Torrey Pines Drive, according to Metro Police.
Police were called about 6:20 p.m. to the area of Lake Mead and Bookbinder Drive, where the pedestrian was hit while walking east across Bookbinder, Lt. Harry Demetres said.
The pedestrian, whose age and gender weren't immediately available, was taken to the hospital with injuries that appear serious, he said.
There are traffic delays at the intersection of Lake Mead and Bookbinder as police investigate, he said.
It was not immediately clear if the vehicle remained on scene.
