Metro Police are investigating a fatal crash that left a motorcyclist dead Friday near North Buffalo Drive and Elkhorn Road.
The crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck was reported about 3:40 p.m. in the area of Elkhorn and Red Cinder Street, Officer Jesse Roybal said.
According to police, a Las Vegas man, 21, was traveling westbound on Elkhorn on a 1990 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a 2016 Ram 1500 that was turning from eastbound Elkhorn onto Red Cinder.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 49-year-old Las Vegas man, was suspected of driving under the influence and taken to the Clark County Detention Center for further testing, police said.
This was the 119th traffic-related fatality in Metro Police jurisdiction this year. The collision remains under investigation.
