Metro Police officer shot, wounded at hotel identified

The Metro Police officer who was shot and wounded Thursday at Emerald Suites on South Las Vegas Boulevard has been identified as Gregory Sedminik, 52.

According to police:

Sedminik and another officer were responding to an unrelated domestic disturbance about 11:15 a.m. when a man confronted him and shot him numerous times in the upper body. Sedminik was taken to University Medical Center where he is expected to fully recover.

Sedminik has been with Metro Police since 1997 and is assigned to the Community Policing Division, South Central Area Command. He has been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending investigation of the incident.

Police found the shooter, 38-year-old Teag Fox, in a Southern Highlands neighborhood and arrested him. He is being held at Clark County Detention Center without bail.

He faces one count each of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon on a police officer, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting with substantial bodily harm on a police officer and discharging firearm into occupied structure.
