A 21-year-old motorcyclist who died Friday afternoon after crashing into a pickup driver suspected of driving under the influence has been identified.

Brandon Michael Degrella of Las Vegas was traveling west on Elkhorn Road about 3:40 p.m. when a 2016 Ram pulled in front of him and turned left into oncoming traffic toward Red Cinder Street.

Degrella crashed into the passenger side of the Ram and was pronounced dead at the scene, Metro Police said. The Clark County Coroner’s office is still determining his cause and manner of death.

The driver of the Ram, 49-year-old Erik Provencal, was suspected of driving under the influence and was taken to Clark County Detention Center for testing, police said.

As of Saturday morning, Provencal was being held without bail.
