Sparks Christmas gift thief sentenced to 6 months in jail

A convicted thief who struck again and took a Christmas gift from a Sparks home will go to jail for six months.

The Reno Gazette-Journal said (http://on.rgj.com/1k8Oa4v) Friday that 36-year-old Arthur Flintroy was sentenced in Sparks Municipal Court.

City prosecutors say Flintroy was arrested this week for stealing a Christmas package from a front porch.

Flintroy pleaded guilty Thursday to one misdemeanor count of petty larceny.

Assistant City Attorney Thomas Wilson had argued for the stiffest jail sentence for Flintroy, who has two prior felony theft convictions.

Flintroy was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and restitution.
