Pedestrian critically injured in crash on Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway

A pedestrian was in critical condition after a crash Monday night near East Desert Inn Road and South Maryland Parkway, according to Metro Police.

Josbany Borrego, 27, stepped off the sidewalk about 5:40 p.m. into the path of a car headed west on Desert Inn Road, police said.

Borrego was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver, a 63-year-old Las Vegas woman, did not show any signs of impairment, according to police.
