Law enforcement authorities shut down Interstate 15 near Tropicana Avenue for about an hour this morning after responding to a report of a suicidal person on an overpass.
Nevada Highway Patrol and Metro Police negotiators responded at approximately 7:44 a.m. to a suicidal adult male standing on Tropicana over I-15.
The NHP tweeted shortly before 8 a.m. that northbound traffic had been diverted and that officials were expecting to close southbound lanes. At 8:05 a.m., the Regional Transportation Commission issued a text alert indicating all lanes had been closed.
At 8:55 a.m., the RTC sent an alert indicating the interstate had been reopened.
