Sixth case of measles confirmed in Clark County

A sixth case of measles this year has been confirmed in Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District said today.

The Health District confirmed the latest case — an adult whose immunization status is unclear — earlier this week, said Jennifer Sizemore, public information manager for the Health District.

The patient remembers receiving vaccinations as a child, but officials have not determined whether the individual received the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine or the full dosage of the vaccine, Sizemore said.

The Health District does not have any information linking this case to the prior cases in Clark County.

The other five cases involved three children and two adults.
