DUI charges pending in fatal Christmas Eve crash

Blood tests are back, and police say the 25-year-old driver of a BMW 300i involved in a Christmas Eve crash that killed two people and injured five in Las Vegas will face multiple felony driving under the influence and reckless driving charges.

Ray Diokno was being held Thursday in the Clark County jail pending a court appearance in the Dec. 24 crash that killed 81-year-old Etherine Noble and 63-year-old Essie Mae Hale.

It's not immediately clear if Diokno has an attorney.

Noble and Hale were in a GMC Terrain driven by 42-year-old Cotina Porter-Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia.

Porter-Smith and a 1-year-old boy were injured.

Police say Diokno and his passengers, 25-year-old Jermayne Jefferson and 26-year-old Matthew Modelo, were also hospitalized after the wreck at Cheyenne Avenue and Hualapai Way.
