Police respond to report of injured hiker at Red Rock Canyon

Metro Police responded to aid an injured hiker in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area this afternoon.

Police received a report about 3:15 p.m. of a man who appears to have fallen near Sandstone Quarry, Officer Larry Hadfield said.

Hadfield said search and rescue crews were dispatched.

The man, who suffered a minor ankle injury, was able to reach help, Lt. Ken Romaine said.
