Coroner says man, 26, died of injures in crash

A 26-year-old man who died after the car he was driving hit a fence and caught fire last month died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Edwin Gichuki from Linden, N.J., was injured Dec. 19 after the BMW 528i he was driving south on State Route 160 ran off the east side of the road, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The driver overcorrected and the car went across the southbound lanes and hit the fence, catching fire in a desert area, officials said.

Gichuki suffered burned and transported by air to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead the next morning, officials said.
