Suspects sought in northeast valley shooting that left woman critical

Metro Police are asking for the public's help to locate two suspects they say were involved in a northeast valley shooting last month.

Officers were called about 11:50 p.m. June 12 to an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Craig Road, near Nellis Boulevard, where they found a woman in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The woman and a male friend were in the 5300 block of Craig Road when they noticed a group of males, one of whom they believed was involved in a burglary that happened weeks before, police said.

The pair followed the group into a business complex, and as the pair was leaving later on, two members of the group appeared in the area, police said.

One suspect shot at the victims' vehicle and hit the woman in the head, police said.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The first suspect, who police say fired at the vehicle, is described as a black man about 20 years old who was wearing a red shirt and black jeans, police said.

The second suspect was believed to be an approximately 17-year-old black male, police said. He had a flat-top haircut with blond coloring on top, police said.

Police are asking anyone with more information on the suspects or the case to call Metro's Gang Crimes Section at 702-828-3309. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
