A former Nevada beauty queen who was stripped of her Miss Nevada USA title in 2006 has been charged with allegedly selling and possessing methamphetamine.

Katherine Nicole Rees was charged Monday in Las Vegas with four felony drug charges.

The criminal complaint accuses Rees of allegedly selling meth to an individual on Sept. 22 and possessing 5.3 grams of the drug a month later.

According to a Metro Police arrest warrant, authorities launched an undercover investigation into the sale of methamphetamine based on a tip received in September 2014.

Messages left with an attorney representing Rees in an open traffic case were not immediately returned.

Rees has faced mostly traffic-related legal troubles since losing her Miss Nevada USA title after racy photos of her surfaced online.

In 2008, she paid fines for several misdemeanor traffic violations after a charge she resisted arrest was dropped.

Court records show she pleaded guilty in 2012 to a single misdemeanor drug charge.
