CINCINNATI — The family of a man fatally shot by a University of Cincinnati police officer who had stopped him because of a missing license plate is holding protests demanding release of video showing the shooting.

Family members of 43-year-old Samuel Dubose and others protested Thursday outside Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters' office.

Deters has said he won't release the video until the investigation into Sunday's shooting is complete. Dubose's death comes amid months of national scrutiny of police and their dealings with black suspects, especially those killed by officers. Dubose is black and the officer is white. Authorities haven't indicated whether race is a part of the investigation.

Family, friends and activists protested outside City Hall on Wednesday night calling for Deters to release body camera footage from the traffic stop.
