A cooking fire Thursday evening at a northwest Las Vegas home displaced two adults.
Firefighters responded about 6:40 p.m. to a fire in the kitchen of a house in the 5800 block of Edrene Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and Vegas Drive, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
Crews were able to get the fire under control in about five minutes, he said.
The fire, which was started by grease on the stove, was ruled accidental. It caused an estimated $65,000 in damage.
The American Red Cross is assisting the two residents, who evacuated quickly and were not injured.
